The Government has rolled out the Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Insurance Sector (Programme) since August 2016 to promote employment opportunities and career prospects in the insurance sector.  Although the Programme was originally extended until March 2026, given the very positive response from the insurance industry, the Government has extended it for a further three years until 2028/29, focusing resources on subsidising targeted courses to assist the insurance industry in enhancing the professional capabilities of its practitioners.

Operating under the Programme, the Financial Incentive Scheme for Professional Training (FIS) aims to subsidise training institutes to provide high-quality and in-depth training at an affordable cost for existing insurance practitioners who wish to enhance their professional knowledge.

Application for the 8th FIS is now open.  Deadline for application is 5:00 pm, 29 October 2026.
